Children--how do they think?

Kids these days! They think they're smarter than anyone; they have the biggest attitudes; in my opinion, they are the most arrogant human beings of this century. Don't get me wrong; I still think they're adorable. They can say the cutest things, too. But like an undercover villain, they have two sides to their personalities. We all love little kids when they're at their best; cute, funny, innocent. But when that wall of unicorns and rainbows, flowers and glitter, goes up, it's a parallel world we live in. They start whining; they start arguing; they start throwing tantrums. Sometimes they'll throw in a little retort or back-sass, too. Children are the perfect imitations of egocentric royalty. So how do they get like that? What makes their mind behave in that way? What goes on inside their heads when they always need to have everything happen their way? It's a curious thing, now that you think about it. I couldn't answer those questions, considering I'm not a 4 year old child anymore. And I don't think anyone this age remembers what they were thinking when they raged and cried all those years ago. Maybe it's time to interrogate my neighbors.....
